The judging criteria

The judging criteria was looking for examples of ‘outstanding intervention, initiative, or innovation’. In particular, they were looking for entrants that ‘substantially improved safety, raised employee wellbeing, achieved positive business change or exceeded client expectations by an overwhelming margin’.

Our entry 

Throughout the covid pandemic high-volume touch points like fingerprint readers were classed as high risk and in line with government guidelines, were being avoided on site. We wanted to help clients like GRAHAM group stay operational and maintain safe sites. We took a strategic decision to not furlough staff and instead focus on R&D. 

We invested our time and capital into upgrading all of our pods from fingerprint to contactless face recognition. 

We were the first to create a contactless plug-and-play solution. The impact of this is already widespread, and whilst it has provided a solution to problems raised by covid, it’s also significantly reduced the technology’s carbon footprint as we move into an era of more responsible construction.
