Morgan Sindall Construction appointed our team at VIS Systems to provide a security solution during the build of Star Radcliffe Academy, a landmark new secondary school designed to transform education provision in Radcliffe.
The project required comprehensive site protection from the earliest stage through to the later construction phases, with solutions that could adapt to changing layouts and evolving risks.
With the site’s proximity to residential areas and its significance to the local community, maintaining both security and sustainability was essential.
The good news, at VIS Systems we deployed a tailored package combining solar-powered CCTV towers, wireless cameras, thermal imaging, and on-site security guards to deliver complete coverage and peace of mind.
Our Role in the Project
At the heart of the deployment were solar CCTV towers, enabling security without reliance on mains power, not to mention the adherence to their eco-friendly goals as a construction company and on this project specifically.
These units integrated with wireless CCTV systems, ensuring cameras could be rapidly repositioned as the site developed. To enhance detection in low-light or obscured conditions, thermal CCTV technology was introduced, providing accuracy at all times.
All camera feeds were supported by our remote 24/7 monitoring station, allowing real-time alerts and thus, rapid incident response. This was complemented by the presence of trained security guards, providing a visible deterrent and immediate intervention capability when required.
Together, this approach ensured the site remained secure and fully compliant throughout construction.
